Backpack and River Guides in the Brooks Range Since 1980
From
the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and Gates of the Arctic National Park
in the Brooks Range to the mountains and glaciers of Wrangell-St. Elias
National Park, ABEC's backpack and river trips are tailored to outdoor
travelers who enjoy being active. Our adventures appeal to people who
like to camp and hike, people who prefer to paddle rather than sit as
a passenger in a rowed raft. All of our trips are in remote locations
in Alaska's unparalleled wilderness.
Alaska's wilderness is unique on a global scale with its quiet beauty,
vast untouched landscapes, and unaltered ecosystems containing natural
populations of wildlife, birds and fish. ABEC's Alaska Adventures trip
leaders are fiercely proud and protective of our state's wildlands;
we enjoy "showing off" Alaska's natural beauty, and in return
it is rewarding to us to see the wonder and appreciation in our companions'
eyes.

If you are dreaming of a trip in Alaska and want to get beyond the
cities, highways, cruise ships and bus tours, we hope you will consider
joining ABEC on a backpack or river trip. We look forward to sharing with
you some of our favorite places!
